Strips and offcuts of vegetable-tanned cowhide, natural, 4 mm thick, from the stock of a Tuscan wholesaler. Clean grain, edges as they come from cutting the hide. The longest strips reach 120–126 cm: a full adult belt with no joins, or two 4 cm straps from the same strip. Each strip is one of a kind, measured by us on a straightened photo. The area shown is rounded down.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece from a larger hide: we determined the area shown ourselves, by weighing and measuring, and it does not come from a tannery stamp. If you find a stamp on the back, it refers to the original whole hide. Where a usable area is also given, it is the area you can actually use, with the flaws taken out.
